Nesting Doll Collections presents our magnificent collection of Russian art work called: matryoshka, stacking dolls, Russian nesting dolls, or sometimes better known as plain nesting dolls. Each piece is sculpted from the soft wood of the European linden tree (Tiliaceae Europaea), or birch, each individual piece of art is hand painted. The method for making nesting dolls is basically the same as a hundred years ago, taking anywhere from several days to several months to finish. This Russian art of matryoshka, or nesting dolls is so beautiful and interesting that you will wonder why you didn't start your collection earlier. With so many different names for this art  its a wonder that you should have heard of them but maybe you never saw so many in one place. We have assembled a wonderfull collection for you to purchase to use in your very own collection or to give as a gift to someone special.
